Emergen C: a Powerful Blend of Vitamins, Minerals, and Antioxidants

Consuming Emergen-C will help increase your levels of the above-mentioned vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It contains a massive dose of vitamin C because it is one of the safest nutrients. Vitamin C is best known for its ability to enhance your immune system and its role as a hydrophilic or water-soluble antioxidant. Because it is water soluble, vitamin C’s antioxidant protection goes to work in the aqueous fluids of your body like your blood and your cell fluids, helping protect your cells from free radical damage.

Aside from vitamin C, the other antioxidants found in Emergen-C are alpha lipoic acid, elderberry, hibiscus extract, quercetin, vitamin A, vitamin D3, and selenium. These antioxidants help strengthen your body’s ability to fight diseases and stave off infections. On the other hand, the B vitamins found in Emergen-C help boost your energy while the electrolytes and minerals help support hydration and a number of other physiological functions.

Emergen-C is also Good for Your Skin and Hair

Emergen-C vitamin drink mixes have been marketed as immune system and energy boosters. But did you know that the nutrients found in Emergen-C can also help enhance your skin and hair? Vitamin C helps protect your skin from sun damage, particularly against UVA and UVB rays. It has also been found to help increase collagen production. Collagen is a protein that provides structure to your skin. Sun damage and lack of collagen accelerates the visible signs of aging like wrinkles and sagging skin.

Retinyl acetate is a water-soluble form of vitamin A that also helps boost collagen production. B vitamins, aside from boosting your energy production, are also important for your skin. Thiamine (vitamin B1) helps boost circulation and gives your skin a healthy glow. Riboflavin (vitamin B2) helps regulate the production of skin cells. Lack of vitamin B2 can lead to itchiness and peeling skin. Niacin (vitamin B3) helps regulate the circulation of oxygen and water to your skin, and prevent acne. Calcium pantothenate (vitamin B5) helps thicken hair and moisturize your skin. Folic acid (vitamin B9), like niacin, can help treat acne. Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) can help maintain the natural color of your skin and is important for hair growth, which is why it is used as an ingredient in lash conditioner products.

Magnesium helps your body absorb other nutrients that help moisturize your skin and nourish thinning hair, and protect your skin from rashes. Selenium’s antioxidant properties contribute to hair growth. Manganese helps your skin produce connective tissue to boost its elasticity and strength. Hibiscus extract helps moisturize your hair and restore its natural barrier. Alpha lipoic acid helps make your skin smoother by removing dead skin cells. It has also been found to reduce circles, lines, and under eye bags; enhance skin color; minimize pores; and regulate oil production. Quercetin can help stimulate collagen production and prevent its breakdown.

Aside from drinking Emergen-C, you can also apply it topically by using it as a face mask to help clear up and prevent blemishes, enhance collagen production, improve skin texture, increase moisture, minimize sun damage, and soothe inflamed skin. Use Emergen-C Lite, which is low in sugar. Empty a packet of Emergen-C Lite on a bowl, add a spoonful of high-quality raw honey, and add a little jojoba oil (or another oil that you use for your face). Mix well and apply to your face after washing and drying it. Leave the mask on for about 15 minutes and rinse thoroughly. You can also use Emergen-C Lite as an ingredient in your homemade facial scrubs.
